The colors of the rainbow
Burn deep within my heart
Each color holds a meaning
And each plays a special part

Red is for the love I feel
Toward family and friends
And sometimes toward that special one
On whom I do depend

Orange is for happiness
When things go well as planned
When everything is wonderful
When life is full and grand

Yellow's for the hidden fear
I keep down deep inside
When foundations on which I've build dreams
Erode and start to slide

Green is for my envy
For my hidden jealousy
When I find out that she's with him
Instead of here with me

Blue is for the loneliness
For all the dark despair
When there's no one I can turn to
When there's nobody who cares

Violet is for the times
That red is mixed with blue
When the love I'd thought so strong
I've found to somehow be untrue

All of these together
Form the blinding light of life
The different shades for different times
Of happiness or strife

Each color holds a meaning
And each plays a special part
As the colors of the rainbow
Shine forever in my heart
