It seems like only yesterday
That I was just a kid
I still remember all the little things
I said and did
But time flew on without a care
And found me standing here
Longing just to feel your touch
And always have you near
I often dream of childhood days
When I was so naìve
Where dreams were made on golden shores
And whispered on the breeze
If I could count each grain of sand
That lies upon the beach
Each star within the universe
Each dream far out of reach
Each heart that has been broken
And each tear that people cry
Each fish that's in the ocean
Each spoken word goodbye
If I could add up all of these
And find the final sum
Convert it to the way I feel
I've only just begun
To express the love that I will now
And always have for you
For all of these together
Only give a subtle clue
