As I Lie Down

I'm lying here in bed at night
I try to sleep with all my might
Time goes by as I lie here
I can't stop thinking of you, my dear

I listen to the radio
And watch the late night picture show
All I do is think of you
And realize our love is true

The lights go out, as sleep draws near
And it's only your voice I hear
In my dreams, your face, I see
I truely wish you were here with me

I'm happiest when you're around
When I'm with you, I'm skyward bound
And time just seems so meaningless
My heart is filled with endless bliss

I hate it when we say goodbye
My heart is crushed, I want to cry
I want to be forever yours
To walk with you on sandy shores

When you are gone, I'm not the same
And won't be 'til you're here again
Because you have part of my heart
That you stole from the very start

As I lie down and think of you
I realize our love is true
I take the picture of you I keep
And hold it tight, as I fall asleep
