Fairytale

Fairytales and fantasies
I know can never be
And so I must wake up
To face this harsh reality
But, somewhere, deep inside
I know this love I feel is true
And there'll always be a special place
Within my heart for you

Back before we met
You know my life was pretty bad
I was always down and lonely
I was always feeling sad
But then you came along
And, in your kindness, picked me up
You offered me your hand
And pulled me out of life's small rut

Now I always lie awake
Within the darkness of the night
I pull the covers up
And try to sleep with all my might
And when the sandman finally comes
To hear my wishes and my pleas
You become the princess
Of my fairytale dreams

Every time I sleep
Within my dreams, you're always there
And life just seems to run along
Without a worldly care
The love song of the birds
Within the forest sounds so nice
That I believe this land we're in
Is almost paradise

But, as always, in the morning
To alarms, I must awake
And the shock of cruel reality
Is sometimes hard to take
I take a long, hot shower
Then it's eat, and off to school
And while all of this is happening
I constantly miss you

I often dream awake
And what I see within these dreams
Is a vision of your face within teh clouds
Or so it seems
But then the school bell rings
The vision shatters, and I see
That within this world
A fairytale life can never be
